In 2011, the Lowell Observatory is set to launch the Discovery Channel Telescope (DCT). Once completed, the 4.3 meter telescope will rise seven stories high and will be used as the Lowell Observatory's flagship research telescope. The DCT is expected to rank fifth largest in the United States.
